Convert handwriting to digital text - OCR vs ICR

Nebo uses ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) to convert handwritten text, math equations, and diagrams into a digital format. Unlike OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which extracts printed or handwritten text from images, ICR is specifically designed for recognizing and converting handwritten input within Nebo.

Important Notes:

  • Nebo does not support OCR for extracting text from images. (Converting imported handwritten text to typed font is not possible).
  • To undo accidental conversions, tap the Undo button.
  • The Math Solver is exclusive to Document pages.
  • We would like to see OCR in the future, but no timeline is currently available for this development.

Types of Pages in Nebo

Nebo supports four types of pages: Notebook, Board, Document, and Imported PDFs.
