How to import files as PDFs

Importing PDFs, Word (.docx), or PowerPoint (.pptx) Files into Nebo

IMPORTANT: Before importing large PDF files into Nebo, it’s a good idea to compress them. This reduces the load on your

device’s memory and ensures smoother performance when annotating.

You can import PDF, .docx, or .pptx files into Nebo. These files will be converted to PDFs during import. Whether you

import from within Nebo or another app or folder on your device, the process is simple and seamless.

Only one file can be imported at a time. Batch imports are not currently supported.
⚠️ Password-protected PDFs cannot be imported.

ℹ️ iPad and Android (Free version): Any imported file counts as one page, regardless of its actual length.Note: All imported .docx and

.pptx files are automatically converted into PDF format and can be annotated like any other PDF in Nebo.

Open the file (.pdf, .docx, or .pptx) via a third-party app or file browser.
Long press the file to open the Share menu.
Select Share or Open with, then choose Nebo.
In the Import PDF pop-up, select the destination notebook.
- ⚠️ You cannot create a new notebook from this screen. Create one in Nebo first if needed.
Tap Import. The file will appear as a thumbnail in your notebook.

Nebo’s import process is designed for clarity and organization:

✅ Imported files are copied into Nebo’s internal library, so your original file remains unchanged.
✅ Annotations are saved within Nebo, and won’t appear in the original file unless you export the annotated

version.

PDF files cannot be imported into Note or Document pages directly.
Instead, imported files are added to Nebo’s Document Management System (DMS) as standalone items.
For optimal performance, especially on Android devices, compress large PDFs before importing.
