Nebo AI Beta: Key Information
A. Nebo AI Beta Requirements
Device Compatibility
- Apple Devices: Nebo AI beta features are available for iPad and iPhone. Mac users with Apple Silicon can also install Nebo to access Nebo AI beta.
- Android Devices: Nebo AI features, including Explain and Summarize, are now available on Android. Additional features will be rolled out in future updates. (Using a stylus is recommended but not mandatory.)
MyScript Account
- A free MyScript account is required to participate in the beta. If you don’t have one, you can create it directly from Nebo’s settings.
Internet Connection
- While Nebo’s handwriting recognition works offline, an active internet connection is required to use generative AI features.
B. Known Limitations
Page Content Limit
- Nebo AI works directly with your notes, understanding the context to provide smart answers.
- Pages with a large amount of content may experience performance issues. To improve performance, limit the amount of text per page when using Nebo AI beta.
Usage Quota Limit
- Usage limits are in place during the beta to ensure fair access for all testers.
- A monthly data quota applies during the beta phase to ensure fair usage for all testers.
Monthly usage quota:
The system works on a rolling 30-day window. Each credit you use becomes available again exactly 30 days after it was consumed. This means your credit balance is constantly updated based on when you used your credits in the past 30 days.
As example of this quota sliding system where your credits are replenished based on a rolling 30-day period.
1. Initial Credits: You start with 5 credits that you can use over a 30-day period.
2. Day 1 Usage: You use 1 credit on Day 1. Now you have 4 credits left.
3. Day 10 Usage: You use 4 credits on Day 10. Now you have 0 credits left.
4. No Credits Left: On Day 10, since you've used all 5 credits, you cannot use any more until credits are replenished.
5. Replenishment on Day 31: On Day 31, the 1 credit you used on Day 1 is replenished because it has been 30 days since you used it. Now you have 1 credit available.
6. Replenishment on Day 40: On Day 40, the 4 credits you used on Day 10 are replenished because it has been 30 days since you used them. Now you have 4 more credits, bringing your total to 5 credits again.
C. Study Sets Limitations
Language Support
- Study Sets are currently available only in English, and the Nebo app must be set to the English interface.
iPhone Availability
- Study Sets will be available for iPhone in a future update.
D. Supported Countries and Territories
- Nebo AI’s availability depends on OpenAI's supported regions. For more information, see the OpenAI Supported Regions.
Important Notes
- Nebo AI is initially developed on iOS because of its standardized and unified operating system. Without the additional layers of customization found on platforms like Android (Xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo). This consistency makes it easier to test and stabilize features across all iOS devices. Once features are fully optimized, we adapt and fine-tune them for Android to account for different manufacturers’ customizations.
